Immortal

In my grotesque solitude,
I long for redemption,
From our Love’s cavalry.
Distance seems a cruel,
Merciless obstacle,
To which an end,
Appears to be nonexistent.
Words are but our lifeline,
Next to our hearts.
Yet, we long for more,
The promise of reunion.
Your words mold my survival,
For which I hunger and thirst.
Yet, I long to see you,
To hear the words
Spoken from your very lips.
Sleep allows escape,
Conjures my imagination.
In dreams, your image so clear,
My blissful visage so vivid.
Our fingers entwined,
As we make gleeful tracks,
Through fields of green.
We recline on a carpet
Of daffodils and daisies.
A picturesque sight as I lie
Encompassed in your arms,
Underneath a pale blue sky.
Awakening brings me despair,
At the realization,
That all was but a vision
Of my aching heart.
Yet, I am enthralled,
By the resilience of true Love.
As each day elapses,
It manifests an evolving strength,
And overcomes life’s predicaments.
Like an Evergreen tree that grows sturdy,
And withstands harsh wintry weather.
One day, our eyes shall meet again,
Our palms shall touch once more,
Our bodies shall feel invigorating warmth,
As two mortals coincide.
For Hope is Immortal,
As is Love.
