Before you...

Before you,

My heart was none but my own.
A vacancy for tenants,
Until you made it your home.
Before love,
My heart was free.
Free to give,
Free to receive.
Until you gave me love,
And received my love faithfully.
Before commitment,
I should have told you sooner,
The rules about my heart.
I should have made it clear.
Before anything else,
You should've known:
"Don't make me love you,
If not for always.
Don't make me love you,
If we'll only be friends in the end.
Don't make me love you,
For I love only once.
Don't make me love you,
For my heart will be yours.
Don't make me love you,
For if you leave you'll take my heart away."

Us

There was a time when I knew nil of your existence,
Then there came a time I knew but chose to be ignorant,
Till the time you decided to capture me from oblivion.
You drew near like a moth to a flame, with an eager desire,
I took a few steps back as if before me was a raging fire.
But steadfast you incessantly proceeded,
Inch by inch I retreated although I was beginning to falter.
Your pace quickened as I began to slow down,
Until we found ourselves close enough to touch.
Suddenly, the world stopped turning, the clock stopped ticking.
Your eyes became a mirror of mine.
And my eyes a reflection of yours.
With three words you had me falling,
Into a deep eternal well from which I never wanted to emerge.
But I was not alone for you had been there all along waiting patiently.
Your arms enveloped me and you made an oath to release me never.
We were free-falling through an ardent whirlpool of Love.
Deaf to all but the sound of our hearts beating in unison.
Mute to all but the intimate secrets uttered by your lips on mine.
Blind to all but the countenance of One truly in love.
All was the world. All was Me. All was You.
The only thing in existence was Us.
