Procrastination of the Semi-Idle Mind

Do you ever find yourself caught up within a warp zone?
Where you're itching to break free but find the doors are closed?
After time elapses...minutes turn to hours and hours turn to days...
You stifle the urge of hysteria...wanting to scream out loud but can't.
The heart pumps blood rapidly...adrenaline rush...then gradually...
As minutes turn to hours and hours turn to days...depression kicks in.
Break down...Break out...Breakthrough? Is there any?
From brain constipation? The prisonhold of talents and skills...
The eyes...ears...mind...savor just a taste of glory...it wishes to swallow.
Observation promotes the silent feeling of deprivation...
Typical duties become monotonous...wishing for greater fulfillment.
Wanting more...needing more...knowing more can come.
But reduced to waiting more...anticipating more...please let it come!
Explosions threaten...yet there need be patience...patience is a virtue.
Trying to believe...consider...acknowledge the words of wisdom.
Want to create! Want to pro-create from those creations!
Think outside the box! The sky's the limit! Carpe Diem! But wait!
There's a right time for everything...when will that time come?
Minutes turn to hours...hours turn to days...

Daggers

They stab me from all corners.
Penetrate through my flesh.
Mercilessly make my blood flow.
They know no time.
Know no place.
Seek only to savagely destroy.
They hunt down the innocent.
Shame the not-guilty.
Accuse, admonish, abuse spitefully.
They abide by no principle.
Lash out venomously by word of mouth.
A slow killer: mentally, emotionally, physically…
Daggers!
Leave me in peace!

2:48 a.m.

The stage.

It is large and exhibits signs of frequent use – creaky floorboards, chipped paint – but still young and sturdy. On this platform, many a play has taken place. Each depicting the anatomy of life – the tragedy, the comedy, the drama, the romance and the history. Hundreds of actors have played a part – the villain, the friend, the relative, the lover and the extras. Some come and go. Others choose to keep up appearances. Several remain chronic performers.

Curtain calls.

Paradise

I dreamed of exploring many a place,
To behold sights and wonders,
I could not witness in a single location.

Then you came along,
And brought me to a place
You had brought no other.
A place that only you and I could claim.

Where the day brought only sunshine,
Amidst a golden paradise.
Where the afternoon brought breath-taking sunsets,
That bled the horizon with a vibrant spectrum of color.

Where the night always sparkled
With crystal and diamonds.
A place where we share our most intimate moments,
Where we made our most precious memories,
Where our hearts will linger,
Until the blood ceases to flow through our veins.
A place that is none but our own,
That no power any less than God’s can conquer and destroy.

Worldly Phenomenon

The earth is a massive edifice,
Where billions of individuals roam.
It would take endless lifetimes,
For one person to journey around it,
To discover its beginning and its end,
To step foot on every expanse of land,
Cross the vast oceans that lie in between.
With the impossible task of meeting,
Every one of those billions.
Yet, there is a power that rules the earth,
An invincible, mysterious force
That brings two unsuspecting individuals together,
Into a blessed union that fuses two into a whole.
It is a human emotion in itself,
A sensation that the mind cannot seem to fathom,
That questions of the intellect,
May fail to achieve a conclusion to,
However, when the mind rests in the heart
For a special, tangible, exhilarating moment
It can be easily understood…
It is called Love.
